Huston Patterson Expands Digital Capabilities

Decatur ILL., - Huston Patterson Corp., Decatur Ill., is pleased to announce that they have added a Gandy Pred8tor, a grand format digital printer, to their printing capabilities.

“Our initial offerings will include our large inventory of un-laminated C1s packaging substrates as well as pre-laminated substrates on B and E flute. We have expanded the available substrates to include foam board, styrene and other similar substrates”, says Donald Ellis, Huston Patterson Corp. Vice -President of Manufacturing. “We have upgraded our Kongsberg table and offer short-run die-cutting to supplement the new grand format digital printer.”

The Pred8tor is a true UV flatbed inkjet digital printer. The finished sheets are dry when they are removed from the digital printer. Print quality and speed on the Pred8tor are driven by the inline ‘Blade’ head configuration system. The Pred8tor prints a 10 inch wide swath using a 6-picoliter variable dot size with Ricoh heads at 900 dpi. to achieve a true grayscale with near photographic color. The Pred8tor will be G7 certified and color will be managed with GMG software (the same software we use to color manage our proofers for our offset presses) which will give our clients a close match to what we produce on our presses.  The Pred8tor has an automated variable head height adjustment and will print on material up to 48” x 96” in size and 2 inches thick.

“This is just another example of how Huston Patterson is responding to the needs of our clients”, says Ellis. “We will always be refining our capabilities to meet our clients’ ever changing needs, while raising the bar in quality and craftsmanship.”

As a world-class printing organization, Huston Patterson provides unparalleled value and performance, through the effective use of craftsmanship and technology by incorporating the principles of trust, integrity and commitment. For more information, visit .
